Employer Payroll Responsibilities

If you employ staff, you are responsible for operating PAYE (Pay As You Earn) and meeting your obligations as an employer. Key responsibilities include:

Registering as an employer with HMRC before your first payday
Calculating employee pay, Income Tax, and National Insurance correctly
Submitting Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC on or before each payday
Paying PAYE and National Insurance contributions to HMRC by the due date
Providing employees with payslips
Issuing P60s to all employees still employed at the end of the tax year
